Homemade dog treats!

One of my new favorite things is to make homemade dog treats for Luna and Kaia. And as far as I can tell, they love 'em. Plus, one batch makes over 50 treats (with small to medium sized cookie cutters)! This is a fun thing to do on a rainy day at home with your pups.

Ingredients:
2 1/2 c all-purpose or whole wheat flour
2 eggs
1 c pumpkin
3 heaping tbsp peanut butter
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 c rolled oats

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1. Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl.
2. Add water as needed to make the dough workable, although it should still be fairly stiff. I added 1 tbsp at a time and mixed in between.

3. Let the dough chill in the fridge for about half an hour.
4. Spread out flour on wax paper and begin to roll the dough, about half an inch thick. Sprinkle a bit of flour on the rolling pin if the dough is too sticky.

5. Use cookie cutters to cut the dough.
6. Line cookies on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 40 minutes, flipping cookies halfway through. Bake until stiff.

7. Let cool, then treat your pups to homemade doggie cookies!

Here is the original recipe, which you will notice that I modified a bit. Have fun!
