My latest adventure was traveling to northern Delaware & Pennsylvania for a weekend girls' getaway with Amanda and Mer. Amanda recently moved to Delaware and is close to amazing places like Washington DC, New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia (just to name a few - lucky girl). Anyway, we really enjoyed exploring beautiful Philly on St. Patrick's Day. As you can gather from the amazing blue skies in my photos, it was a gorgeous day with perfect weather. Such a fun day! Exploring new cities by foot is one of my favorite things to do. So, here are a few snapshots from our trip...
The first order of business was at-home Essie manicures, of course!
Saturday morning, us girls took the Septa into the city. Fun beginning to the day.
Naturally we had to eat cheesesteaks for lunch. Actually, I was the only one who did that (although Mer enjoyed her chicken cheesesteak and Amanda loved her wings). We chose to dine at Pandora's Lunch Box... a local place we knew nothing about, but ended up loving! It was very tasty and such a great deal.
One of our highlights of the day: Philly Cupcake! So delicious and definitely recommended if you are in the area. Amanda and Mer split a "Philly Fetti" and I got "The Coma." Man, I love a good cupcake. (The best cupcake I've ever had was "the whoopie" from here)
Philly's Chinatown.
Unfortunately we weren't able to visit the Liberty Bell, but we did enjoy the courtyard of Independence Hall.
Proudly wearing our green for St. Patty's Day. ;)
Another bit of history that we explored was visiting the Betsy Ross House. Betsy was an upholsterer who sewed the first American flag for the thirteen colonies. US history!
The Cheesecake Factory was the perfect way to end the weekend (if it had to end...).
I'm so thankful for such a great weekend exploring Philly with the best friends a girl could ask for. If only we lived much closer to each other. ;)
