Mocksville, North Carolina to Trumann, Arkansas • 681 miles
Day one: bittersweet goodbyes see you laters; a Mellow Mushroom park picnic in Asheville, NC with my brother Alex + his girlfriend Ariel; driving through the Smoky Mountains and their beautiful autumn leaves (soaking up autumn while it lasts); Interstate Barbecue in Memphis, TN; crossed the Mississippi River in TN/AR; three states (NC, TN, AR).
It was difficult saying goodbye to our families, friends, and hometown. I know this is not forever though. We'll be back, North Carolina. Day one was a looooonnnnng day, but we made good time (hello, 681 miles and three states!).
Days Inn never seemed so much like home. So good to rest!
