Interstate Barbecue, Memphis, Tennessee

Memphis, TN: 75°

Fairbanks, AK: 26°

Woohoo! After a day of driving across North Carolina and Tennessee, we made it to our second American BBQ stop on the evening of Monday, October 15th. Jim Neely's Interstate Barbecue is located on the outskirts of Memphis, and was ranked #2 in the top 10 BBQ in America by People Magazine. Crazy! The employees here were super polite and nice.:)

We ordered to-go so we could be with the pups. We both ordered the large chopped sandwich with a side of fries, and dined in the Land Rover :). These were pretty big sandwiches with large pieces of "chopped" BBQ and were coated in a thick, strong tomato-based sauce. The sauce was so thick that the aluminum wrapper fell apart.

Two famous BBQ joints down, one to go! PS we listened to "Walking in Memphis" as we entered the city limits :).
